Who are you?

My name is Edward Beaman-Hodgkiss and I am a freelance poet and writer from England. From here on my ‘Pen Me A Poem’ website, you can hire me to write a poem on your behalf, on any subject matter imaginable and for any type of person. My growing reputation is extremely important to me and thus each poem is created with the utmost care and importance. The same applies to the interaction and connections between myself and my clients, which are always cordial and respectful.

When did you first start writing poetry?

My first poem was written for my mother when I was around the age of seven or eight. It still hangs on a wall to this day. It was during my primary education that I was first introduced to the works of the great poets. Every week, my classmates and I were asked to learn and recite a classic poem. The most memorable of which being Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’.

What is your education?

My education was rather varied, partly due to a lot of moving about when a child. These include a Prep school, a Welsh village Primary school, a boy’s Grammar school and two Art Colleges. I gained a BA (Hons) in Interior Design in 2002.

What are your interests outside the world of poetry?

I have a very large array of interests outside the poetry arena. The primary ones consist of Politics, Art, History and Sport. As readers might have noticed, I often incorporate political subjects into my work. I’ve strong political views but these do not come in the way of the client’s wishes in regards to the subject they wish a poem to be written about. I’m a talented artist which was my primary focus throughout my teenage years and early twenties before my love for poetry came to the fore. I’m a keen runner and enjoy walking and swimming.

Is it true that you are a cat fanatic?

Yes. I write many poems about cats and have a dear moggy named Mildred. I find them the most beautiful of creatures and can never imagine living without one.
