United States President-elect Barack Obama has promised his two daughters a new addition to the family upon entering the White House. Replacing Barney, President Bush’s Scottish Terrier, will be an as-yet-unknown mutt. A Portuguese Water Dog and a Labradoodle are apparently the two joint favourite breeds to hold the post of ‘First Dog’.

Barney Bush
The kids want a Labradoodle, that is
A mix between a Labrador and Poodle.
President-elect Barack Obama
Soon to be inaugurated this month
Is desperately seeking a First Dog.
“Cockerpoo Daddy!” says Malia Ann
As she suggests some more alternatives,
Whilst Sasha mulls over a Great Schnauzer.
The present alpha-mutt is Barney Bush
Who is most famous for chewing the hand
Of a mean paparazzo, last Autumn.
Scots Terrier off the list, last Autumn.
Michelle wants a Portuguese Water Dog
Apparently, to match her new shag pile,
Much preferable to a Bullshitzu.

I’m glad that you enjoyed the photos of one of our cats (Liger) on my blog. The tabby cat on the side of your blog is gorgeous! Aren’t cats wonderful creatures? Have you visited the website Cats in Sinks? It’s very funny.
It’s inspiring that you are pursuing your passion in poetry. May your path be blessed!
And I would say that all of this talk about the white house hounds is really much a do about nothing. I like so many Americans are so happy that this will be President Bush’s last week. The sound of his voice makes me cringe and what he says always makes me shake my head.
I can’t help it!
The reason they want a labradoodle is because they are hypo-allergenic, because malia is allergic to dogs.
Bullshitzu is on it’s way out. Thank goodness, cuz it does poop a lot
Karen: Cats are indeed wonderful creatures. I have four of them and each has a character so very different to the others. Cat’s in Sinks? Sounds interesting, I will google it. Thank you for the good wishes.
Kathryn: I’m going to make myself unpopular here but I actually quite like George Bush. I think he’s been misunderstood in many cases.
Daire: Yes, I read that. That’s very unfortunate for any dog lover.
Genie: Interesting and funny.
I must say you have one of the most original blogs/websites I’ve seen. That dry English humo(u)r gets me everytime. I am sorry to say you might be in a minorty with your opinion on the outgoing pressie. Are you ready for a new set of p.c. jibes for Obama?
Kim: Thank you very much!
I’ll follow Obama’s progress and write some poems accordingly.
